yesterday

yesterday was my birthday! it was a very fun day. actually, i've had about three days of birthday fun (including much much later today, as i am posting this at 12:45am... hehe) - and now i am going to list everything i did and got and stuff like that:

1. giftses
--->from my sister heather: a very zawesome digital camera (the one she had before buying her ultra-cool canon rebel digital xti, or whatever order that comes in... and some rechargeable batteries to go along with said camera, plus a rechargeable-battery-charger to recharge said rechargeable batteries. :p (the batteries and charger were also partly from my sister katy, who currently resides in england-place.)
--->from my mom and dad: a lot of super-cool yarn (i knit), a car (haha, just kidding), text messages all throughout the day (from my papa, 'cause he worked all day yesterday), the huuuuge and wonderful opportunity of being able to go to the DC Baha'i Youth Congress in november (see, i capitalize things - i'm not lazy, i'm selective), a giftcard to joann fabrics (to buy more yarn of course!), a uber-comfy hoodie (from my daddy) emblazoned with my school's name - the only allegiance i'll ever pay to it! haha (joking), some money (always welcome in my pocket!), three goblets of different colors (amber, blue, green), two wooden cd-crate-ish-things (which could double as dvd holders if need be), some closet/room organizing materials, and some sort of article of clothing which has yet to be decided upon - either a nice dress or a top and jeans.
--->from my sister katy: a super-ultra-way-coolio-fantasmagorical quill pen (with a feather!!) and some blotting paper - these i will receive once our family reconvenes in decemberishtime.
--->from my maternal uncle: a seriously loaded itunes gift card (hehe) which i have not used yet. yet being the operative word. :D
--->from my maternal great-grandfather i received a very cute card and a check, which promptly was deposited into the checking account i opened on my birthday afternoon. from various wonderful friends and family i was bombarded with many joyeux birthday messages (in several different languages including but not limited to hebrew, japanese, german, english, spanish), four "media cubes" (meant, i think, to hold cds and strange oblong knick-knacks - i'll post pictures on flickr), some card-cards, an e-card, and a whooooooooooooooooooole lotta people writing upon my facebook wall! :) each of which i thanked individually (fingers... aching... can't.... type... anymore... *thump*).

just kidding. now then, item 2.

2. thingses
--->tuesday afternoon (birthday eve): drove 80 minutes, which adds to some previous driving time which racks me up over 12 hours now! found out my class (over which i had been agonizing) was cancelled (bittersweet moment, having driven 40 minutes just to find that out) for some unknown reason. came home later to find my bedroom had been absolutely trashed - actually, it had been trashed due to my sudden urge to move my furniture about and rearrange and reorganize everything in my bedroom; i came home that afternoon to find it had all been straightened out... and everything... had been stuffed... in my sister's room. *laughter* but really, it's very nice to have a clean room.
--->tuesday evening (birthday eve): ate dinner with my mom, dad, heather, and uncle, afterwhich we did some presents presenting (mostly everyone giving me presents... strange how birthdays seem to work that way.... huh).
--->wednesday morning (birthday): awoke to find two voicemails and a text message awaiting me, all three of which wished me birthday happiness and suchwhat. spent a lot of time reading all the wall posts and responding thereto, and knitting a very crazy confetti hat (which strangely appears to have flecks of eggs in it - again, flickr pictures) with some of my new crazy-awesome yarn and some old not-so-crazy-but-still-awesome wooden needles.
--->wednesday afternoon (birthday): went out to open the checking account, received a highly-adorable and now highly-coveted orange pig key-ring thingie from the bank, some temporary checks and all that jazz, went to joann fabrics and spent over half the amount on my card buying more yarn. hehe. and a couple of buttons, so it is being used well. yes. went to verizon and fixed my cell-phone (which would deviously and cruelly freeze in the middle of things randomly, or shut off in the middle of things, randomly), so now it works. hurrah! after the phone store we went home and my mom, heather and i watched some gilmore girls together, and i talked with my best friend on the phone for a looooong time, and then we went to the local library to renew my library card and i was sung to there by the lovely front-desk ladies who recognize us because we are such book fiends, and got to pick up two books which i had been wanting to read for a long time, and then we went home and watched another gilmore girls episode, and i was knitting some more, and then my daddy came home and we said some family prayers, and now i am here typing up this blog post. only, now it is 1:18am, and i started this at 12:44... i think i should go to bed now.
